How are scars caused due to ingrown hairs?

The hair-end trapped under the skin continuous to grow, which infects the area. Puss gets filled in it, which people often tries to prick or pop and leads to scarring and skin discoloration. But, your worry is for a limited time, because now you can get rid of these scars by following this routine which will help you get a soft and evenly toned skin.

  • Apply non- comedogenic oils

Apply a non-comegenic oil to the scarred area to soften discolored tissues. You can use any non-comedogenic oil like almond oil, olive oil, avocado oil, Castor oil and coconut oil. These oils help open the clogged pores and let the hair follicle grow properly which have been trapped underneath your skin. Massage the effects area properly for at least 2-3 minutes daily. Use your fingers to massage the oil on the skin. After you have massaged the area, place a steaming hot washcloth or towel over the infected or scarred area and leave it there until the towel cools down completely. Wipe off the remaining oil with the washcloth. Do it regularly for 2 weeks for 3 minutes at least.

  • Exfoliate

The first step of applying non-comeodgenic oils will soften the tissues, therefore, exfoliate the area using a natural and mildly abrasive exfoliant. For this, you can use a good quality exfoliant or use a natural exfoliator by mixing a 1 tbsp. of baking soda with 1 tbsp. of water. Now, scrub the area of loosened skin with the mixture you made, and massage it for three minutes. Now, rinse off the skin with warm water. Exfoliation removes dead skin cells, thereby promoting new skin cell production.

  • Bleach the scarred area

If your scars are too stubborn and you want to lighten them immediately, as you want to go out for a party, apply a bleaching cream. It will lighten the appearance of the scars immediately, helping them blend in with the rest for your skin tone. Don’t use any harmful over-the-counter bleaching cream, make sure to buy an oxygenated bleaching cream which would help give results sooner, but in a healthy way, as bleaching agents are generally not very skin friendly.

  • Cover with SPF

Make sure to wear sunscreen with 30-SPF on the scarred area. Sun is never good for your skin unless you want to get a tanned body, and in case of ingrown hair scars, it will just worsen the appearance. If you want to get rid of ingrown hair scars on your legs quickly, remember to keep the area protected with a sunscreen having a high SPF rating.

  • Anti-scar creams

Your scars may just won’t go away even after trying so many hacks, then you must go for anti-scar creams. Anti-scar creams rich in Vitamin C and retinol can help reduce the appearance of scars with time and help you get a smooth and soft skin. Anti-scar creams contain hydrant which generally hydrates your skin making your skin tissues more soft and supple, which makes removing hair easier for next time.

  • Tone the area

Tone the scarred area with a toner high in Vitamin C, which increases the skin-cell turnover. For a natural remedy, use lemon juice as it has a high concentration of Vitamin C. Soak cotton pads in concentrated lemon juice and apply the juice to the scar affected area. Keep the lemon juice-soaked cotton pads on scars for at least 10 minutes. Remove the pads after 10 minutes and let the skin dry.
